Highlights 


∙ How to update existing product in Field Assist Portal? 

∙ How to update products in bulk into Field Assist Portal? 


Brief on important terms used 


1. GUID – It is auto generated system ID for all products, will be unique ID for each product 

2. HASHKEY – It is also auto generated system ID for all products, but it will change if we do  any edits or changes in the data of a product 


Note – Please don’t make any changes to GUID, HASHKEY in the file as it will get impact on data of a product in the Field Assist Web Portal. 


Compulsory Fields required in update product file 

GUID, HASHKEY 

Apart from above fields if you add any fields (like Product, PTR, PTD, MRP etc) in the file for update,  then update process will start provided you have GUID, HASHKEY in the file. 


Bulk Upload File Checks 


Prelim Check – This is first stage of check where Field Assist Web Portal will read your uploaded file  for correct headers and Hash Check With GUID, ID. Null Entries Check if header is present [PTR, Unit, Standard Unit Conversion Factor, Standard Unit, Product Erp Id, Primary Category, Secondary  Category, Product, Is Active] 


Passive Check – It is a second check which will start once the file is through Prelim check. In Passive  Check it will check “One To One Check SKU To Product Erp Id” and “Uniqueness Check SKU” 


Active Check - It is a third and final check which will start once the file is through both Prelim check  and Passive check. It will check for Uniqueness For GUID + SKU and Uniqueness For GUID + Product  Erp Id


Update Products in Bulk 


Click on Company Settings – Product Management (left side small arrow) – Bulk Upload (left side  small arrow) – Update Product 


1) Click on Update Product option 




Note – Compulsory Headers Check Hash Check With GUID , ID 


Null Entries Check if header is present [PTR, Unit, Standard Unit Conversion Factor, Standard  Unit, Product Erp Id, Primary Category, Secondary Category, Product, Is Active] 



2) Click on Download Button; automatically product update template excel file will get  downloaded




3) Once you open the file, it will have product updating headers with existing products in Field  Assist Portal 




4) You have to add the information to the respective product rows to update the product  information in Field Assist Web Portal 

Please don’t make any changes to GUID, HASHKEY in the file 

Note – Delete the entire blank columns if you find in update products template file and keep  only data columns and rows, or else it will throw an error while uploading it for updating. 

Also the Fields like temp_Product Division, temp_Primary Category, temp_Secondary  Category, temp_Display Category will not get updated in Update Product Bulk Upload process,  despite you add any new data in those fields will not get updated in Web Portal. Only the  remaining fields of products will get updated in this process.





5) Save the file after removing blank columns. And upload the file into same Update Product  Page by using Choose File Button 





6) Click on Upload Button to start the process





7) Once Pre Checks and Passive Checks Completed Successfully. You have to Press Continue for  Active Checks 




8) To know the progress you have to click on Show Details Separately in each check





9) After a success Active Check it asks your approval to start insertion process “Press Continue  for Insertion!!” in Green text 




10) Click on Continue button and to start the Insertion process





11) Once insertion is completed. You will get a message in Status Details and Message as  Insertion completed and You may logout





FAQ’S 


1) How can I update old product in Field Assist Portal?

 

Answer- Go to Company Settings – Product Management (left side small arrow) – Bulk Upload  (left side small arrow) – Update Product. Where you will find option to Download the excel  template for product updating, add the required data to respective product details row and  upload the same file in the page. And you have clear all 3 checks in bulk upload for successful  product update. 


2) What I do if I get bulk upload update run time error? 


Answer – First you have to look at the error message that is displayed in the window and do the  required changes as per the error message. Then Save the file and upload the file again to start  the process. 


3) How do I check my progress while executing the bulk upload process in Field Assist Portal? 


Answer – You have to click on Show Details Separately text to see the progress of your  execution. 


4) Can I update a single product without using bulk upload update method? 


Answer – Yes, off course you can do that. Click on Company Settings - Product Management, it  will take you to product page. Where you can click on Edit button and make the required  changes, then click on Save button


Note – this option will have only basic and important fields of products (i.e.) Product Name,  Product Category, Pack Size, Color, Price to Retailer, Price to Distributor etc. for more  information changes you have to use Update product bulk option only.
