Creating Product Divisions and Product Categories

This module is to Create/Edit Product Division and Product Categories. 

The following document will help you with the following Queries:- 

        ● What is the relationship between Primary Category, Secondary Category, Product Division? 

  ● How to Create/Add a new Product Category? 

  ● How to Create/Edit a new Product Division? 

  ● How to Create/Edit Secondary Category? 

To reach Product Division and Channel, one should click on the Company setting tab, product management tab will unhide. 

Click on the arrow besides product management and further options will unhide.

WHAT IS THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN PRODUCT DIVISION, PRIMARY CATEGORY, AND SECONDARY CATEGORY?

HOW TO CREATE/ADD A NEW PRODUCT DIVISION? 

On clicking the product management option, the options under it will show up. Click on Product Divisions and the following will open up: 

The terms/nomenclature used in this window is explained below: 

Create: Click on it to create a new Product Division 

Edit: Click to edit an existing product division 

Deactivate: Click to Deactivate a product division 

Manage Categories: Click to Manage(Create, Edit, Deactivate) a product categories

HOW TO CREATE A NEW PRODUCT DIVISION? 

To create a new Product Division Create Button on the top left: 

The following window opens up: 

Enter the product division name, it’s Standard and Super Units. 

Click on the Add button and your product division is created. 

To Edit a product Division clicks on the edit button. 

To Deactivate the product division, click on the deactivate button

HOW TO ADD A NEW PRODUCT CATEGORY? 

To add or edit a product Category click on product category under the product management tab. 

The following window opens up: 

To Add A New Product Category Click on create on the top left of the window The following opens up: 

Enter The product category name, its standard unit, and its standard unit conversion factor, its super unit, and its super unit conversion factor. Select the product division from the drop-down menu and click on the submit button 

On doing this your new Category is created. 

To edit an existing product category click on edit and modify the required fields In order to deactivate the product category Click on the deactivate button.

HOW TO CREATE/EDIT A NEW SECONDARY CATEGORY? 

To create a secondary category Click on Show SC Under any of the primary categories. 

You will be able to see the list of already existing Secondary Categories mapped to that particular Primary Category. 

To create a new secondary category click on the create button.

Fill in the relevant details of the secondary category. 

Enter the Name of The secondary Category. 

Select the Primary Category which needs to be mapped to the secondary category that is being created. 

Click on the submit button to save the new Secondary Category. 

To edit an existing secondary category, click on the edit button. 

Update the relevant details and click on Submit.
